Could Comet ISON Be the Event of 2013… AND the 21st Century?

Comet_ISON_discoveryOn the Eve of (Mayan) Destruction, which so many people have predicted to be the end of the world, I thought I’d play a little sooth-saying of my own! Mind you, my prediction is a little bit more scientifically based.

Right now, there’s a little comet sitting about 600 million miles (965 million km) away, beyond Jupiter. It’s called Comet ISON, or C/2012 S1. ISON stands for International Scientific Optical Network. It is an organization to which the comet’s two discoverers belong (Artyom Novichonok and Vitali Nevski). They discovered it on September 24th, 2012.

186 X-men Movies Widescreen Wallpapers (1920×1200 pixels)

These 1920 x 1200 X-men movies wallpapers are also good for 1680 x 1050, 1440 x 900, 1280 x 800 and 960 x 600 pixel monitors.

There are surprisingly few wide screen monitor wallpapers for movies for some reason, especially considering they’re almost all in wide screen format these days. The situation is worse for older movies. That’s why I’ve made a whole bunch here, from graphics I found online, altered and enhance. I still have more coming that I hope to add by December. They need a little more work than the ones here.

Of all the wallpaper sets I’ve created on this site, I have to say this has been my favourite. I love the X-men comics, and I thought the casting and costumes created for the movies’ characters were fabulous! The movies were spectacular, too, and I only wished they put one out each summer. Goodness knows they’ve got enough story lines to create that many for a long time… and it’s not like they don’t make a ton of money, either!

I hope you enjoy these wallpapers if you have a wide screen monitor. I have more for other monitor sizes coming by the end of November!

Hello Kitty and Sanrio Widescreen Wallpapers (1920×1200 pixels)

There are a lot of Hello Kitty and Sanrio wallpapers out there, but there are hardly any big enough for widescreen monitors that are so popular today. I don’t know why that is, whether the Hello Kitty fans don’t have large monitors, or whether they don’t care to have Hello Kitty wallpapers that much. Regardless, here are some. I created them from various graphics I found on the Internet, doing at least a reasonable amount of touch ups and adjustment to each from the original graphic.

This set is for 1920 x 1200 pixel widescreen monitors. They are also good for 1680 x 1050, 1440 x 900, 1280 x 800 and 960 x 600 pixel monitors. If you’re needing another size, please click on the links below.

Some wallpapers may be a bit bright for some people, but I didn’t like looking at these images either darkened or faded. There is a nice range of intensity among these wallpapers so hopefully, you’ll be able to find at least a few you like. You can either get one as a desktop wallpaper, or a set to use as your own Hello Kitty screensavers via instructions below.
