I was recently in Houston, Texas, to enjoy the Chinese New Year full on given the large Southeast Asian community there. This was a lion dance video I captured with my GoPro Cam while I was there on January 28th. While it was going on, they also lit a whole whack of “mouse” firecrackers, which were supposedly “quiet” relative to the real big stuff they use in Asia. Unfortunately, I couldn’t simulate it for you because even if you turned your stereo up full blast, it would not be as loud as these “mouse” firecrackers!

Back in August, 2011, Eli Manning caused a stir when asked if he considered himself in the Top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL. That would mean being in same class as premier quarterbacks such as Tom Brady and Eli’s big brother, Peyton. Eli confidently answered “yes”, even if he didn’t have the statistics, records, record, and Super Bowls as Tom and some others did, though Eli did have one… and it was over Brady.

Eli Manning and the New York Giants have won Super Bowl XLVI, demonstrating some serious karma!
For years, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts were great… but the New England Patriots had his number.
However, as Eli Manning entered the NFL with the New York Giants, it seems that the Giants have had New England’s number.
How was Madonna’s Roman Cheerleading Super Bowl Half-time Show? Poll.
The Super Bowl half-time shows are a spectacle on their own. In recent years, it seems they’re only memorable for bad reasons, though. For example, the Black Eyed Peas’ 80s TRON show, the Who’s WHAT? show, and don’t even get me started on Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction!
So this year, they had Madonna. With her, they brought on the Romans, which somehow turned into a cheerleading squad, with a tinge of gospel at the end.

Earlier this week, Elton John had some blunt advice for Madonna, who was headlining the Super Bowl XLVII half-time show.
“Make sure you lip-sync good.”

Elton the John was apparently still miffed at his error of predicting Madonna’s Globe nomination loss when she won just a couple of weeks earlier, exposing his ego, stupidity and poor sportsmanship. (Washington Post, January 17, 2012)
