I’ve been working on a new look for work because the dress shirts I had been making to this point were of fabric that was just too tedious to iron all the time. I was going to save time making a new wardrobe instead of ironing all the old stuff all the time! Finally have my new look close enough to what I want to start mass producing similar versions. I work for the government so I need something with not a lot of razzle and dazzle, and something that looked professional even though it wasn’t going to be the conventional tucked in shirt and dress pants look. This was what I came up with.
I finally have some decent pictures of myself in some garments I’ve designed and made for myself so I’m going to start posting them. This one is of a full Transformers outfit I made from curtains at Wal-mart over 2 years ago. You can read about it on the original post. I’ll just share some pics of me in it here and now.
This is my new fashion look for work and other business casual situations, along with general wear when I’m not preferring to be in athletic or other types of garments. It was inspired by McCall pattern 4745 of a historical Civil War look, with me doing my own pattern and adding the DIY wheeled or ring buttons that I came up with the idea for when the local fabric store didn’t have any buttons I liked and could use.
