Last year, I spent 7.56 hours in bed each night. I don’t have a way to measure actual sleep time so time in bed was the closest thing to a sleep indicator I had. This year, I wanted to try and get it to at least 7.8 hours per night this year as part of my resolutions. So far, I’m doing well at 8.06 hours per night. However, anything based on time means time for something else is being sacrificed for it. But how much time am I talking about here, in the long run, rather than just a half hour per night? When I did the math, it was a little smack in the face, even though I don’t have any regret about it given sleep is the most important thing one can do for one’s health.

Coping with a Predeterministic Existence
What if everything you do won’t ever matter because all the outcomes were predetermined? What if everything everybody ever does won’t matter because all those outcomes were predetermined? What if everything that happens in the universe were predetermined? And not just our petty little lives. And what if those what if scenarios were real instead of hypothetical? Because it is scientifically plausible. What are you going to do to cope with it? Not believe it?
Thoughts about Shit… or Lack Thereof… Shit not Thoughts
Hmmm. I think that title could qualify as short modern poetry rather than a title or prose. But never mind that. I was thinking about shit today. Or rather lack of shit in my life. And especially compared to most other people’s lives. Which was where I got the idea for this post and its title. And just a warning, because shit is too much information (TMI) for some people, you might not want to read further unless you can tolerate shitty humour.
McBuddha, Fooda Buddha, or McFooda Buddha
He’s the most static eater I’ve ever seen, at least of McDonald’s meals with a hamburger, fries, and drink. I had previously referred to him as the food Buddhist on a few posts about regulars whose paths I cross in my frequented places. However, as those, like this one, was “warm-up” writing, not a lot of thought went into every detail. While observing him today at another chance path crossing, I thought up a few alternatives I liked better, and wondered which I should apply going forward in my mind, as I don’t anticipate writing about him again.
Just a Blog Identity Tweak This Time
Most blogs have a theme to them. If you hadn’t noticed, this blog is like a repository for all kinds of things I write, and create for people to use, except my poetry that has its own dedicated blog to keep things “organized” for me. At times, I have changed the blog tagline to indicate a themed phase I might have been in, which would have made no sense for all the people visiting for previous content because those changes tended to be big. Themes have ranged, in no particular order, from writings, to fashion, personal tests, art, screen wallpapers, Facebook associated stuff, new vocabulary learned, and most recently back to creative writings on my two year journey to do writing more seriously. Less than three months into that journey, I have refined the focus to change the blog identity again, but only with a tweak this time.
