Super Bowl LVI is on Feb 13, 2022. Among all the reasons to pick one team or another to win or lose, rational or otherwise, how’s about Chinese astrology?

Feb 13, 2022 falls in the Chinese Year of the Tiger. As you’d know from the design of the Cincinnati Bengals, a bengal is a tiger. That sounds great! It’s your year, so you’ll be destined to win, right?

Well, not quite.

In Chinese astrology, whenever it’s the year of your animal, it’s the worst one in the cycle for you. It has something to do with what’s called your Ben Ming Nian – the year you will likely suffer setbacks and misunderstandings at the very least, possibly even meet with disasters on a more serious scale.

So in that regard, the Bengals won’t be winning Super Bowl LVI, meaning Chinese astrology is favouring the Los Angeles Rams. The Bengals got here prior to Feb 1, 2022, when the Year of the Tiger started, so they wouldn’t have been affected by their Ben Ming Nian up to then. But now that the Year of the Tiger has started, the Bengals should be wary and watch out! Not only expect to lose, but hope not to get destroyed… kind of like how the Denver Broncos did in Super Bowl XLVIII, on Feb 2, 2014 in… you guessed it… the Year of the Horse!
