Super Bowl LVI is on Feb 13, 2022. Among all the reasons to pick one team or another to win or lose, rational or otherwise, how’s about Chinese astrology?
Well, what can I say as a Broncos fan? We were beaten by a better team today. Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks and their fans on the Super Bowl win.
As for what I had asked before about believing in Destiny given that this were the year of the Horse, Destiny was not wrong. I just had interpreted incorrectly. Usually, in Western culture, symbols that flash up that coincide with something you believe in, usually means things are going to go your way. It seems, in Chinese astrology, those “born” or affiliated otherwise with the year of one’s birth or symbol, is slighted by it! It’s true! I’m not just making it up! Check this serious call on the Super Bowl according to Chinese Astrology!
“They absolutely will not win,” Chinese New Year adviser to the City of Sydney, Lin Abbott, said.
“According to Chinese philosophy, those born with the same zodiac sign as the year’s designated animal are going to have a particularly difficult year”, the same article also says.
Well, all I have to say is that watching this Super Bowl was the most painful TV and sports experience I have ever had. However, in looking for the silver lining in everything, all I can say is that the rest of this year should be easy for all the challenges I have set up for myself.
Congratulations again, Seahawks fans. Enjoy your victory!
I will still wear my Denver Broncos fleece jacket and hat proudly everywhere, of course. You don’t shy away from showing support for your team when times go bad. That’s when they need you most. And I’ll just take all the taunts and such the way I should… like a man.
And I’ll stop making Chinese astrology calls. I know Tarot cards, not Chinese astrology… even if I am Asian and have a Chinese last name. 🙂
Happy Chinese New Year everybody!
Or Happy Asian New Year if you prefer!
It is the year of the Horse, Wooden Horse if you want to be more specific. Below are some predictions for the Chinese Year of the Wooden Horse that will cover most of the 2014 Roman calendar year. That’s aside from the Denver Broncos winning the Super Bowl in a few days, of course, with the team symbol being that of a horse. 🙂
Chinese New Year this year is on January 31, 2014.
The Super Bowl this year will be on February 2nd, in the new Chinese New Year.
I’ve just checked, folks, and I’m happy to tell you…
It’s the Year of the Horse!
Neeheheheheheh! You neh!
Neh, I kid you not. It is the Year of the Horse! And I just got one question for ya?
Do you believe in Destiny?
On Nov 3 2008, the Washington Redskins prophesized Barack Obama’s election win by losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers in their final home game before the election. Now that Barack Obama has defeated John McCain from Arizona, is the astro “logical” Super Bowl pick is for the Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat the Arizona Cardinals?
Since the Washington Redskins began playing football in a US election year 1936, the result of its final home game before the election has correctly predicted the election outcome 18 of 19 times. If the Redskins won, the incumbent party, or party in power, stayed in power. If the Redskins lost, a new adminstration was coming in. The sole exception to this trend occurred in 2004 when Green Bay Packers beat the Redskins 28-14 on Oct 31 2004, but the incumbent Bush stayed in power. It’s all interesting except with this election prediction, we have a chance to follow-up with a Super Bowl prediction considering who is playing.
The Steelers prophesized Barack Obama’s election win and are now in the Super Bowl. Their opponent is, of course, the Arizona Cardinals from election loser John McCain’s home state. Considering the ludicrousness of astrology, from where predictions supposedly come, it would be almost astro “logical” to prophesize the Steelers will beat the Cardinals given Barack Obama had beaten John McCain.
The only question remaining is if they would beat the spread. Did Barack Obama beat his “spread” or predicted margin of victory?
Alas, I was so engaged in the election I listened to too many polls, including those combination poll results, to know what was the official spread.
However, I’m a bit of a karma guy and a fan of Kurt Warner so I’m with the Cardinals. This despite having had a memorable Pittsburgh Marathon finish on the Heinz Field track in 2002 and having seen myself on the Jumbotron there.
Besides, I think the answer of who will win is in the “cards”, not astrology. 🙂
