Ideals are good for an over simplified world
The more I live and learn, the more I appreciate how complex life and the world is. I’m also finding that all the complexity has changed my views, including a lot of ideals I once had. I not only believe in a lot of them any more, whether love, equality, or whatever, I understand why I don’t. I haven’t lost hope or belief by dropping these ideals, I have just reformulated them to better suit the complexity of the world. That doesn’t mean they’re all complex, though. They’re just less idealistic, like “True love is made, not found”, where you have to work to get true love, though you can get it with many people, and that it’s just not going to happen with the one person in the world.
I’ll tell you one thing, though. They work a helluva lot better!
