A few nights ago, I made one of the more interesting calendars you’ll find for 2017. It was put on a 12 sided rhombic dodecahedron, and thus called a dodecalendar. The idea was not mine. I saw someone carve one out of wood. I don’t have a wood working shop, nor have the skills, to do the same thing. However, I had the skills to create the same design on paper, so I did, and I thought I’d share it with anyone interested or who might care to try themselves.

Rhombic Dodecahedron Pattern for a Craft Challenge
I just made a rhombic dodecahedron calendar for 2017 on Bristol board last night, otherwise known as a dodecalendar. It’s shown in the photo at right and spinning in the video below. I made it from scratch, meaning I made the files to print out the sides and assembled, fitting two sides on a letter sized sheet. I will compact the files into one PDF tomorrow and share, but in the meanwhile, I thought people who were interested might want to make rhombic dodecahedrons of whatever. Perhaps a die. Perhaps art on each side. Perhaps something personal for them.
BIRD 1-piece Thong
Where you see bird, I see thong.
From the one piece pattern at right that was fitted for my lingerie model, I was able to quickly make a thong in about 30 minutes. It’s shown below on a mannequin that is not as curvy as my lingerie model so it doesn’t fit as nicely, nor look as sexy covering more than on her, but you should be able to get a fair idea what it looks like.
PUZZLE Toque and JIGSAW Mittens Double Layered Fleece Set
I’ve been making double fleece toque and mittens winter sets to revamp some of my winter wardrobe. I have a horrible collection of mismatched toques, gloves and mittens that don’t often even fit well, so I was in desperate need of some of these garments. I’ve decided I would make 5 sets with different feel and impressions for various times and events, as well as variety and fun. This is the first set I’m showing.
ONYX All Lace Slip
In my follow up fitting adjustment of the AMETHYST slip blogged about yesterday, I chose to give a first try at an all lace garment. I had sewn with lace before. However, the lace was only ever a part of the garment in terms of fabric, never the entire garment.
