Obama’s Barackets Walloping the Rest After Day 1

It’s only Day 1, but the President’s Barackets is ahead of 98.2% of entries in ESPN’s March Madness Tournament Challenge! President Obama only got two games wrong, though one was Ohio State that he also picked to on to the Sweet 16 so he won’t be getting that game right. He picked some sweet upsets, though, like North Dakota State over Oklahoma that was the first true upset of this tournament given the other “upsets” were teams known to have fairly competitive squads. Someone said North Dakota State was the “best team nobody knows about”, and they at least proved that in one game. We’ll see how well they do the rest of the way.

The POTUS is beating me for now, but for now is the key part of that phrase. I am a mere one game behind, but still ahead of 90.4% of the entries. I also have one team picked to go to the Sweet 16 that’s not going, Oklahoma. Obama has been analyzed to pick well in the first round, especially for upsets, but a little more suspect in the latter rounds, though not that suspect given he usually does pretty well to still beat the majority of entries.

Bring on Day 2!

Obama’s Barackets Finished Ahead of 73.8% of ESPN Brackets

Congratulations to the Louisville Cardinals for winning the March Madness Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament in 2013. For the tournament, I have been updating the performance of President Barack Obama’s Barackets (link at end) among over 8 million ESPN entries. With the tournament now over, I can report a final placing for the President at better than 73.8% of all brackets entered. However, once again, I beat the President, finishing ahead of 90.0% of those same bracket set.

President Obama’s 2013 Barackets Doing Excellent After Sweet 16

Oh, how a round changes things in March Madness! After the second round (now actually called third round), President Obama’s Barackets were standing at the 62.2 percentile. That is, his was ahead of 62.2 percent of the brackets submitted on ESPN. Well, after the Sweet 16, he is now standing in the 92.2 percentile! (see bracket links below).

President Obama’s 2013 Barackets Hurting Badly After Round 1

For the ESPN March Madness Tournament Challenge this year, I thought I’d do a little more analysis than just President Barack Obama’s Barackets.

After Round 1, da Prez’s Barackets are hurting badly relative to the nation’s performance (see bracket link at bottom). He only got 19 of 32 games predicted correctly. Not much better than a random 16 of 32, or 18 of 32 if the #1 teams were not picked to lose as they have never lost. This poor performance so far left his brackets at just 19.9 percentile among those entered. In other words, 4 of 5 brackets among 8 million are doing better than his (or 6,527,401). That’s kind of terrible and worse than his approval rating, I hate to tell ya!

Will Your March Madness Brackets Beat President Obama’s Barackets This Year?

It’s my favourite time of the sports year again, March Madness! As usual, President Barack Obama has submitted his “Barackets”. As usual, I will monitor it throughout the Tournament to see how it’s doing against the general public, and a few others’ brackets, including my own. I am 3-1 against da Prez in the past 4 years.
