This post contains explicit language and wicked humour, but justified, so if you are allergic to either, please read something else. 😉

Mikael Granlund’s “Lacrosse” Style Scoop Hockey Goal Video

Mikael Granlund, a 19 year old hockey player from Finland drafted 9th overall last year by the Minnesota Wild, just scored what may well be the play of the year on Friday the 13th of May, 2011!

On the IIHF World Championship semi-final stage against the Russians, at full speed stealing the puck in the corner, then walking around a player, then having that player chase him behind the net, Mikael scoops up the puck and puts it up and under the crossbar. He scored “lacrosse style”, as some like to say, to give Finland a 1-0 lead. But never mind my description. Have a look for yourself because words don’t do this goal justice!

Tag Your Top 10 Best Looking Facebook Friends

This is a new type of Facebook tagging that can really get you into trouble, if you dare to use it!

That’s because you have to decide which of your Facebook friends are the best looking, and tell everyone else about it in tagging them! Those who make your list will love you for it! Those who don’t, definitely won’t! This will be especially true if they think they are better looking than someone else on your list. How they react will vary, but you’ll have to live with the consequences. 🙂

Can you handle the stress and pressure? If so, let’s get going!

You can either do this outright, males and females in the mix, or you can do it with males competing against each other, and same with females. Don’t think of it as being sexist, but rather that you can reward 20 people instead of 10, and bruise 10 fewer egos. 🙂

If you do it with males and females separately, pick the memes called Guy Edition and Girl Edition, respectively. If you mix males and females, you’ll have to make your Top 10 list first. Then see how many females are in the mix and choose the meme with the same number of females.

TED 2011 Ads Worth Spreading, Part 2 of 3

This is part 2 of 3 posts showing all the ads TED deemed worth spreading. (Part 1)

The TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) community just released its 2011 Ads Worth Spreading contest winners, and the ads are better than the ones I have seen for the Super Bowl in any year! But what did you expect from a brilliant group who’s moniker is “Ideas Worth Spreading”?

Now these ads aren’t like ones in the Super Bowl lasting 30-60 seconds. These ads are much longer, often being the full version of the shortened ads for TV time slots. However, with ads like these, I could watch commercials in place of TV shows because I don’t notice how long or short they are. I’m actually a little sad once it’s over, alongside whatever mood the commercials left me in.

I have posted a bunch of the ads here because I have found higher quality versions of the ads than the ones available on the TED website. Otherwise, I’d have just posted links to them all on TED’s site.

The link for Part 3 is at the end of the post.

Enjoy and be prepared to be wowwed!!!
