Laugh if you want, but serious swing dancers will tell you that leading and following is good for your dancing!

You can appreciate what each role does so that in your main role, you can “communicate” better in every way, whether signalling moves or doing them at a higher level.

I should get T-shirts made with swing dancing silhouettes to give context, and lines like

• I swing both ways
• Swinging both ways is good for your dancing
