Save YOUR world
before you save THE world

There are lot of people out there who are in other people’s business, supposedly trying to help, when their own lives are a mess. There are also times when those of us who often don’t do that, do it anyway. I’m not sure whether it’s a distraction when we ignore our own lives’ messes, or maybe it’s attention getting, some combination of both among other factors, or a different reason for each occasion. Whatever it is, we need to be aware that we’d be better able save the world after we get our own lives straight. It may not sound noble, but it’s like instructions on the plane to put on your oxygen mask first before trying to help others. If you don’t, you may end up jeopardizing your own life while not successfully able to help others.
All that said, though, there’s plenty of selfishness to go around that you can create a pretty large class of people who will save their world first, and possibly only, never mind trying to save the world!
