Careful, FIFA… Karma is Watching You!

FIFA is intent to get Brazil as far as they can in this World Cup because without Brazil, there would be so much revenue potentially lost from a disinterested nation! The officiating in games where Brazil faced any sort of a threat has been horrendous in Brazil’s favour. Where anything has been done to make things a little fairer, like the Columbian penalty given today, it was of no immediate consequence. Brazil had a two goal lead with ten minutes to go. One kick wasn’t going to do much.

But FIFA seemed to have forgotten there is such a thing as karma, and karma sent a little reminder today by removing Neymar from the rest of the World Cup with a broken vertebrae. FIFA is going to have to step up its refereeing favoritism to help Brazil now. Let’s see if FIFA has got that audacity to make the refereeing of Brazil’s games even more blatant, knowing karma will be a little less kind next time as the cheating get more flagrant.

Here’s hoping Neymar recovers well, though. It ain’t his fault Brazil is getting the favoured treatment.

Alternatives to Penalty Kicks for Settling Soccer Ties

Settling a soccer match by penalty kicks is like deciding…

  • Boxing decisions by having fighters taking turn freely punching each other till one goes down.
  • Baseball ties after 9 innings with a home run hitting contest.
  • Basketball ties in regular time with a free throw or 3 point shooting contest.
  • American football ties with a field goal kicking contest.
  • Tennis ties with an ace serving contest instead of tie-breakers.

Soccer needs an alternative that involves the natural play of the game! What alternatives? Here are some to consider.

Has Tim Tebow’s Magic Finally Ran Out? Poll.

With the Denver Broncos’ loss in the final game of the regular season, Tim Tebow and his Broncos finished their season 0-3 and had to rely on help to get into the playoffs. This was after a magical 7-1 run under Tim Tebow, whose magic seems to have ran out as it no longer was able to cover for his weak ability to throw with some magic. Has Tebow’s magic finally ran out, and how much Tebowing might he have to do to get it back if so?

Would You Shop at Lululemon Given These Despicable Corporate Practices? Poll.

Lululemon is a pretty popular shop these days, I don’t need to tell anybody that. Whether or not you like them, tons of people are shopping lots at Lululemon. Most of them are women, and many of them young, including their young staff. These people are supposed to be sympathetic, social conscious and Internet savvy. Yet, they shop there despite Lululemon having about as despicable a corporate history as any company out there, one that puts what Nike used to be on a level of heaven with saints. Are Lululemon’s shoppers as hypocritical as they are?

Lululemon shoppers are almost like a cult, much like Apple’s shoppers. Lululemon’s are built on yoga and all those ways of inner peace, beauty, wellness relaxation, appreciation and all.  Yet, their ways are anything but that. Worse, they know it and flaunt it like it doesn’t matter. So far, it seems not to have, but can this go on?

Wish Your Facebook Friend a Happy Birthday with a Song to Make It More Meaningful

On Facebook, you can opt to have your birthday show up as a notification on your Facebook friends’ Home Page on the day it is your birthday. Most people then just usually write something short, and frankly, a little meaningless from how generic it often is.

The person whose birthday it is, then, gets like a ton of notifications of these greetings. They may or may not go through them all, as most are the same old plain “Happy birthday!” variation. But what do you expect of mostly shallow “friendships” that come with most of most people’s Facebook “friends”?

However, some people go through all the comments so they don’t miss something they may want to respond to, or should acknowledge to avoid embarrassment of not having read it when someone took the time to write it… and asks about it later.

What I’m proposing is that if you want to be a little more genuine, and break the person’s routine scroll through all the relatively meaningless wishes a bit, add a little song link, like from YouTube. A lot of songs can be found there.
