I’m a numbers guy. I notice a lot of relations between numbers, in addition to finding them in analysis and such. However, I sometimes miss some for years that when I realize it, I am just stunned as to how I could have missed it. The most shocking example still is the one that has to do with my age when running my first marathon, and which I didn’t realize for like a decade. However, this one about my spending and taxes in recent years comes close.

Two Greats’ Birthdays
January 26th is Wayne Gretzky’s birthday. Happy birthday, Wayne! If my memory were correct, it’s a big birthday year for you, 2021. Arguably, the greatest hockey player of all time, you are, not arguably, my favourite hockey player of all time. Yet, on your birthday, while I’m happy for you, I’m always a little wistful for me from a little chance incident back in my childhood as a nine year old refugee in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
A Valentine’s Day Toy Photoshoot
I got an idea for a photoshoot today with some small toys and fabric fragments I had around. The results are below, linked from my toy Instagram account, Ode to Toy.
These were taken with an iPhone, in my living room, as my digital SLR is in for sensor cleaning after years of use and getting dirty. I must say I am quite happy with the results. These square photos are all well over 2000 pixels in each dimension in their original files! The iPhone was able to capture small objects (about 2 inches high) from up close, in very vivid detail without blurring out much! It’s going to see a lot more use from me in the future! 🙂
Sad and Happy Times Quote

the happy times would not be so enjoyable
