Before you read the rest of this post, just click play on the video below of the video game Minecraft’s soundtrack, and either leave it to play, or click somewhere randomly on the length of the track to play some of its music. It would be appropriate because this post is about how I came upon this music by chance, and fell in love with it for my future writing!
Please note that as of Dec 2014, this NO LONGER WORKS due to a security setting change on Pinterest. I’ll leave it here in case the creators of Download Your Board figures out a way to get around that. Until then, I don’t know of a reliable option for downloading entire Pinterest boards. Sorry.
This is useful for Pinterest users and non-users alike, basically anyone who might care to grab a collection of pictures that have been gathered on a Pinterest board, in one quick swoop. How and why you use it, whether to backup, steal, borrow, translate to another format like presentation, etc. is up to you. It’s just an awesome tool providing a magnificent service.
Shakespeare dwells on this, comparing the subject to various aspects of a summer’s day. By nature, I’m a concepts person and not one for details. I can do details if I need to, but it’s not my natural mode. I’m all over the place. So instead of asking shall I compare thee to a summer’s day, I generally said I could do that, or compare you to this and that and those and these things. The kicker, or closing couplet that sums things up, is that I can compare you to all these lovely things, but that none compared to you.
It’s as simple as that.
So if you liked the song and want to learn to play it on guitar or ukulele, please click on one of the links below. Chords and notes are included.
These tabs all fit on one page to avoid the inconvenience of page turns. However, the letter size tabs (8.5″ x 11″) may be too small for your eyes. If so, you can either enlarge to tabloid size (11″ x 17″) using an automatic enlarge feature on many photocopiers, or download the tabloid sized versions for printing. The tabloid size tabs can be inserted into a typical letter sized binder on the 11″ size, and folded almost in half to fit. You just open each tab to use it.
I just got a WordPress space upgrade, which means I can also upload file types I was not able to before, like MP3s.
Well, it turns out I have recorded one song so I have an MP3 to which I have copyrights to share. I wrote the song, but it was beautifully sung by Lis Soderberg, with background parts, recording and mixing all done by the very talented Allister Bradley in the summer of 2008 at Humber College. The two of them really made this recording what it is. I just strummed on a guitar.
So here’s to testing out the new space upgrade MP3 file upload feature. Please click the right pointing icon below to start playing the song.
The MP3 file on my WordPress account also allows me to share this music with anybody who might care to have the song for themselves after listening to it here. If I insert the MP3 without the file link, the WordPress Audio Player would appear, like above left.
If I copy the file link to some text, I can insert it for downloading like with the text just below the Audio Player. One point of note. I don’t know why but I couldn’t upload the MP3 file using Firefox. I’ve had the occasional uploading problem with Firefox, and mine is the most up to date version. However, it works fine in Explorer, in case you run into problems.
No, that’s not my vanity thinking you would. That’s a little demonstration of how you might share guitar tabs in the future. However, I think you would still be violating copyright to cover someone else’s song without paying royalties, even if it were your own arrangement and you weren’t making any money off of it. But it’d be great to share your songs with others instead of having to teach them!
If someone knows more on this issue, though, please comment. I’d love to be be able to share my arrangements and guitar tabs of well known songs this way!
