I have a poetry blog. It’s nothing special, and I am absolutely not being modest here. Pretty much nobody reads it, right now or ever in the past, and that’s quite fine by me, because I don’t write for the readership. You don’t write and post over 1800 poems for readership over a few decades if you’ve never gotten any readership, so I am honest in saying I don’t write for the readership.

Nobody Buys Lottery Tickets Thinking Winning is a Short Shot
After a book of 100 life philosophy and mantra quotes I had written for myself over the years just last year, I’ve been writing more for my next book. What I thought was going to be a dangerous Confucius in my old age, armed with life philosophies, is ultimately going to end up more than twice as bad, because I think I will be able to write far more than another 100 in the next 30 years or so! Oh, pity those who will be my friends then, and my wagging pointing fingers, LOL! This is my latest life philosophy quote and mantra for myself.
Borrowed a Library Book That was Still in Quarantine
Today, I had an unexpected and interesting experience. I borrowed a library book while it was still in quarantine. Yes, it was still in quarantine, not me, for protection from potential COVID spread. Apparently, the Halifax Public Library , and I’m sure many other libraries, disinfect books after they are returned, and leave them for 24 hours, at which time any possible COVID on it will have died off and not be transmittable. I just didn’t know that in how I came about it.

It’s been about a week since I’ve posted, but not due to lack of writing. Well, it was due to lack of writing for one day. Yesterday was the first day in 2021 where I didn’t do any writing, but I needed a break after editing, rewriting, and writing bits and parts of a 50,000-ish word short novel of literary nonfiction I had originally written for the 2019 3-Day Novel Writing Contest. I did this for an application for a writing mentorship in Canada. It’ll be a long shot, but the way I look at it, nobody ever bought a lottery ticket thinking it was going to be a short shot, you know? And you can’t win the lottery unless you play, as I often say, for one of my many life philosophies I had written for myself over the years that I had blogged about.
I’m in LOVE! With Brussels Sprouts
I LOVE a good life surprise! That is, a surprise from some degree of chance, whether completely or partially where I had some say in making it happen. This past weekend, I got one of the better ones I can remember in a while, and it had to do with me finding some brussels sprouts on sale at Wal-mart, getting it, now loving it, and super excited to be incorporating it heavily into my future diet!
