Definition: Bucchero, Metalliform, Kyathos, Impasto, Abecedarium, Kantharos, Hydria

There were a LOT of new words I learned from this article so let’s get going!

 

Bucchero

A distinctly black, burnished ceramic ware, that is the signature ceramic fabric of the Etruscans (name is not theirs though)

 

Metalliform

Having the form or structure of a metal

 

Kyathos

Single-handled cup from Etruscan times

 

Impasto (not related to paint)

A rough, unrefined clay

 

Kantharos

Two-handled drinking cup from Etruscan times

 

Hydria

Water ware jug from Etruscan times

 

Abecedarium

Letters of the alphabet
