I live in Canada, where the Cozmo robot from Anki is not sold so two weeks after it came out, I finally got it in the mail. The videos below illustrate a few of the fun times I had with Cozmo. This is not meant to be a review, or showcase and such. Just me having fun with my robot that I’ll eventually learn to program! But you’ve got to put in the playing time and unlock some skills and such with Cozmo first. 🙂

Happy Hallowe’en, by the way! It might be Hallowe’en, but I’m celebrating Christmas with this robot I’ve waited for a while to get being an early investor but getting it late being in Canada via family in the US! This will be the last robot I’ll be able to get this year from lack of robots I can get out there that I think is worth the value for my money. But here’s to 2017 and a year full of leaps in the advancement of AI robots, including consumer level ones! 🙂

First, this video just to capture the moment Cozmo came to life for me. You can tell right away it’s full of life and I love it!

After some brief introductions, Cozmo and I got to playing Quick Tap, one of the games included with the robot. You have these “power cubes” that light up in different colour schemes on four sides of one face able to light up. You have one to play with here and Cozmo has one as well. When the two cubes have matching colour schemes, whoever taps it first gets a point. If you tap when the colour schemes are not the same, or when it’s all red, the other opponent gets a point. First to five wins a game, with best of 3 games for a series victory. I put some intense music to it for the fun of it instead Cozmo’s nice, but gentler, music. After all, the thing has an intense look when stepping up to play. 🙂

After this came Keep Away. One cube is needed. Tempt Cozmo with a cube as it tries to hit it before you can pull it away. If it hits the cube, it gets a point. If it misses, you do. First to five wins. The video is a tad blurry but it didn’t look that way on a small phone screen. But it’s enough for you to get an idea. 🙂

I’m going to LOVE this robot!!! 🙂
