Oh, those grumpy fools who were constantly whining for most of 2020 for it to end because of the COVID-19 pandemic! What were they thinking, exactly, that 2021 was going to be better? Did they not realize that we would start the year in the middle of Wave 2 that was going to be worse than Wave 1? Or Wave 3, technically, if you were looking at the United States’ numbers. Did they not realize the days would be shorter and darker than when the pandemic really started in March, 2020? Did they not realize the vaccine wouldn’t be out that quickly in terms of everyone wanting one getting it? I don’t know what those people were thinking. I’m an optimistic realist, and that person didn’t see anything close to warranting that optimism. But let’s put that aside and take a good reality check right now.
Do you think there will be more COVID-19 deaths in 2021 than in 2020?
You can start early voting today for the US, it seems, from what some friends were posting on Facebook. That’s almost a month ahead of time!
That led me to think with that much time, what if enough people went to vote that CNN and other news stations could call the election before election night?
Seriously, this could be done!
C’mon, American neighbours! Don’t make me wait. And don’t disillusion me on my perception of your collective intelligence and common sensibility.
Actually, forget about me! Don’t make the world wait. Nor disillusion it on their perception of your collective intelligence and common sensibility!
It’s a pretty obvious choice! Why prolong the inevitable?
There are all kinds of polls for the US election, covering all kinds of demographics. However, I’ve yet to see one for geeks and nerds, as well as dorks and dweebs. Before you chastise me, though, yes, I know the difference between the four.
However, for this post’s sake, and relate to the rest of the public, let’s just all be happy together as geeks and nerds, shall we?
Geeks and nerds may not be taken seriously in life, but as a demographic, they make up about 16% or 1 in 6 of the American population! That’s bigger than a LOT of demographics surveyed out there! Geeks and nerds are definitely a SERIOUS demographic!
So without a poll for this demographic, let me ask all the self-labeled geeks and nerds (and dweebs) out there, who do you prefer for President of the United States? Please vote in the poll below, and share with your geek and nerd friends!
If you use Facebook, you know there is a Like button you can click on to show you like, support, approve or think positively of it in some way. There is no Dislike button, probably to keep the social experience positive, among other reasons. However, this lack of a Dislike button isn’t serving the need on identifying true social public opinion on any matter that might be controversial. If all you ever saw were all the people who Liked something controversial, how would you ever know how many people might Dislike it like in a real poll?
So the Winnipeg Jets have decided to keep the name, as the fans had wished that was clear on polls from my site but also from others. The poll on my site was far more resounding (76%) than the poll done in the Winnipeg Sun (58%), and snubbed the mayor’s comment about how the new team wouldn’t be called the Jets (same story as previous). Not good for political media, eh?
