King’s Speech Wins Best Picture Oscar Over Fictitious Social Network

The King’s Speech just won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2011, besting out the character assassinating fictional drama The Social Network. And to that, I say Amen, even if I’m not Christian.

147 Harry Potter Backgrounds for the iPhone, iTouch, iPod Touch and Palm Pre (320×480 pixels)

Nov 30 2010 update

I’m still working to add more! I’d have put them all in two or more sets to keep things manageable, but that would have just driven some users crazy to flip back and forth to compare so I will include all the wallpapers here. When I am done adding, I will take off this note.

I will also label and organize the wallpapers by characters a bit better.

These Harry Potter backgrounds are meant for all models of the iPhone, iTouch, iPod Touch and Palm Pre. However, you can also use these as profile pictures in Facebook or other applications that do not require a square picture.

The wallpaper size is 480 x 320 pixels, or similar in ratio to a 6″ x 4″ photo. Apple and Palm went the size ratio of typical photos that people take.

My contribution to these wallpapers was the choice of cropping to get a nice picture, resizing to properly fit the iPhone, iPod Touch, iTouch and Palm Pre screens, with some touch up to remove certain background, adjust punch of colour, etc. The small size of these wallpapers allowed for some beautiful close-up cropping of the monitor wallpapers I only wish I had resolution for to make printable pictures from to share! There are going to be some seriously stunning iPhones, iTouch, iPod Touch and Palm Pre out there with some of these and other wallpapers I plan to be making for them!

Enjoy!

Professional Baseball Fans Facebook Friends Tagging Challenge

I created these tagging challenges for major league baseball fans in North America, Japan and South Korea, or people who know lots of those fans. The tagging challenges can be done on Facebook, MySpace, LiveJournal or other platforms where you can tag people on pictures.

The idea is to see how diverse is the group of baseball fans you know, and how does that compare to your fellow baseball loving friends. It’s no fun if everybody supported the team you supported, you know!

  • Pick a Facebook tagging meme of your choice based on the leagues below: American, National, combined Major Leagues, Nippon Professional Baseball League (NPBL) and Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).
  • Tag one person you know whose favourite team is represented by the team logo. It has to be that person’s favourite team as you can’t tag a person twice on the same photo.
  • How many teams can you tag? And how does this compare to your friends who might have done this same challenge?

Here’s how to get these graphics for your tagging fun:

  • Click on a picture below to get it at full size.
  • Right click on that picture and save to your computer.
  • Upload it to your profile.
  • Tag your friends!

Fancy yourself quite the social sports fan, or this isn’t your sport? Try the same Facebook tagging challenges for:

Please click here for a complete list of over 100 Facebook picture tagging memes on this site with which you can use for fun with your friends.

Enjoy!
