Lyrics for San Clemente’s Not the Same, Mr Nixon You’re to Blame (by Myron Ace, sung by Barbara Foster)

So, someone found a popular song for which lyrics were not online! And it was on my site, of a song for which I posted a video! At their request, I typed out the lyrics and they are below the video.

Sing along folks cause it’s a great singalong tune!

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

You made our town , your summer home
You crowned it with, the Capital dome
You took a step, out on the beach
Now Cotton’s Point, is out of reach

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

At nine we used, to close the bar
That was OK, with F.D.R.
Oh Mr Nixon, you’re so great
But must your guest, stay out so late?

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

Before we close, I’d like to say
Oh, neighbour we’d, like you to stay
But would you take, us off the map
And give us back, our noon day nap

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame…

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame…

What beautiful lyric writing! To start out with a first verse that opened the story, but also served as a repeatable chorus! You try writing a story where the intro can be repeated to finish off each section!

San Clemente’s Not the Same, Mr Nixon You’re to Blame!

Just watched Our Nixon on CNN, and my favourite part was this little rag at the end! A cute little ditty by sung by Barbara Foster and written by Myron Ace, its theme denounces the Washington/political tourist crowd that bombarded San Clemente after Richard Nixon moved to San Clemente’s coastal hamlet and bought the Cotton’s estate. To this day the home is still known as the Western White House.

I don’t think this song has ever gotten the attention it just got now on CNN! I get the feeling it’s gonna be sung a lot more often now with its catchy chorus of “Mr Nixon, you’re to blame” and Nixon’s image associated with the Watergate Scandal that seemed like everybody around Nixon went to jail for except Nixon.

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame… Mr Nixon you’re to blame…

Best Thing About Baltimore Ravens Being Super Bowl Champs is They Ain’t Got No Fan Base to Brag About It!

So, the Baltimore Ravens have won the Super Bowl. I can’t say I care that much about them. They’re the most boring play-off team, or top tier contenders, to me. So what’s good in any of this?

There ain’t gonna be nobody to brag about their team being Super Bowl champs this off season and next year!

Unlike the Patriots, Packers, Niners, Giants, Steelers, and a handful of other franchises that have continent wide fan bases all over, the Ravens don’t. So that means I won’t have to run into friends and strangers talking football who will be trash-talking their team being Super Bowl champs all year! And I highly doubt they’ll be gaining too many new fans, either.

After today, I will hear about the Ravens being Super Bowl champs nevermore! 🙂

Do You Like the New Nike NFL Uniforms? (Gallery and Poll)

Below is a gallery of the new Nike NFL uniforms. Have a look and take the poll to tell people if you like them. You can also comment. Tell me what you think, and I’ll tell you what I think… if you care for what I think. 🙂

This gallery is easier to view than the NFL site’s gallery because there are no frequent advertisements interrupting your viewing here, and the thumbnails are labeled and in order! Seriously, NFL.com, you can do much better than that!

Peyton Manning Joins the Denver Broncos… and Why This Guy is Glad He Did!

The Peyton Manning Sweepstakes is over! Peyton has chosen to sign with the Denver Broncos, a team with a horse mascot like the Indianapolis Colts, for whom he had played for 14 seasons. Maybe he has a thing for horsey teams. Regardless, that means I’m going to be switching favourite teams because I was only in for the Colts to follow Peyton from the University of Tennessee, where he played college football. But now that Peyton has left, I go with him.

A lot of reasons were mentioned why Peyton chose the Broncos, see story link above, but here’s why I am glad he chose them. Some of these reasons I don’t doubt he considered, though maybe as a minor factor. Others are just for me that made me happy:
