Disable Life Events on your Facebook Friends’ Settings to Remove Advertisement Likes in Your Newsfeed!

Facebook has employed a new and really annoying strategy to force its users to see more advertising. Pages that your Facebook friends LIKE, which have updates, are now showing up dead and center in your newsfeed when these pages have updates, and not just as an ad on the side of things! So stuff you don’t care about will be flooding your newsfeed via your friends even when your friends are not actually doing anything… and you’ll have to look through them to get past to the next stories! It is really annoying!!!

Facebook Needs to Better Align its Timeline Cover Photo

Facebook has been rolling out its new Timeline profile. At what should be the top of this profile is a really widely proportioned photo (850 x 315 pixels) that could be, in Facebook’s words: “a unique image that represents you best. It’s the first thing people see when they visit your timeline”. Unfortunately, the way Facebook displays this image, a good portion of it is chopped off, and there is no good reason for it.

Facebook Needs a Lose Friends Button, not a Find Friends Button

Facebook just introduced a Find Friends button as I write this. It’s a gradual roll out, I suspect, so others will have seen it before me and others still have yet to see it. They snuck the Find Friends button between your Profile and Account buttons in the upper right hand corner. But really, do Facebook users need such a button?
