Organizing Your TikToks

One thing I borderline hate about social media platforms like Instagram is their inability to let you organize your content. While most probably don’t care about that, being themed accounts or with content they’ll rarely or never care to reference again, being more concerned about Likes and number of Followers in the moment, I am one who creates content I would like to reference again in talking to people to show them or tell thing about things, rather than caring for how many Likes or Followers I have. As a result, I want to be able to find things I have posted quickly, or see similar content all at once, as well as show or direct others to do the same thing without making them scroll though an endless amount of posts eventually. That’s why I have a handful of Instagram accounts themed on different things like origami, fashion, flags, and such, rather than jam them all in one account.

Well, with TikTok, I have found a way to organize my content by any topic I want, using their Collections feature, so I don’t need multiple accounts for differently themed content to keep them organized unless I foresee enough content to dedicate to a separate account. I show you how to organize your TikToks in the way I mentioned in more detail below.

Cool and Affordable Laser Cut Miniature Metal Models

I just saw these on a site by Canadian hardware store Lee Valley, of all places! They are by Metal Earth. There are all kinds of themes for their models, and they are all pretty cool! At Lee Valley, they are about $8-$15 Canadian apiece. I see online, like at Amazon, they are sometimes a lot more. However, you’re getting ripped off in such a case, likely, if Lee Valley can sell them at those prices as a middleman. The only reason you might pay a bit more is if some store you know doesn’t carry a particular model, since there are so many! But I’d just get it directly from their site if I were you. There is substantial shipping outside of the US, though, so bulk it up on an order to get the most out of your standard shipping rates.

Fashion Designer Spotlight: Georges Hobeika

Georges HobeikaAs my fashion knowledge grows from my time on Pinterest, I am seeing more fashion from more designers. I am definitely developing favouritism towards a bunch of them so I thought I’d share some in case people haven’t heard of them. I’m no fashionista so it’s not like these designers are “unknown”, but some are maybe not household names yet.

This month, I discovered the work of Georges Hobeika. He is from Beirut, from where Zuhair Murad originates. That’s interesting to me because the first designer spotlight I had blogged about belonged Zuhair Murad’s. What were the odds that the first two designers I liked enough to blog about were both from Beirut? Is there something about my tastes that is common to their style?
