I’ll Be Rocking Canada’s New Vertical $10 Bill of Viola Desmond

Canada just revealed its new $10 bill, and it features a black woman on it, Nova Scotia’s own civil rights activist, Viola Desmond. It is also vertical in orientation while all the currency traditions were being turned on their heads! I think the bill is absolutely beautiful and I’m gonna be rocking it when it comes out around Christmas, 2018!

You know how some people flaunt cash in $20 bills, or maybe $50 or $100 bills? Well, I’ll be flaunting my new $10 bills like that! I’ll carry only $10 when I can, opting out of larger bills, and only carrying $5 bills when I get them as change. I might even spend the $5 bills a little frivolously every now and then to get rid of them, or make an extra purchase so as to get less than $5 in change back… all for the sake of “image” as the $10 guy, and helping the economy with a little extra expenditure. 😉

CANABIS = cannabis from Canada

Canada is planning to legalize marijuana, also known as cannabis, in 2018. Among the many issues of concern is quality control, because if government will be selling it, there has to be some quality control standards. Those standards can be expected to be good, too! Canadian cannabis is going to be known for its quality!

So I thought why not just brand it? Since the two words Canada and cannabis start with the same sounding syllables, with slightly different spelling to make a portmanteau sort of pun from it, that works orally as well as written, why not?

Canabis would be cannabis from Canada with all its positive qualities!

See How Various Canadians Demographics Have Aged Via Online Dashboards

My latest Tableau dashboards involve Statistic Canada published numbers for Canadian populations in various age groups, provinces and territories, genders, and annually since 1971.  They could be very useful for your work, study, or just interest as they are accessible online, with lots of details, visuals, and downloadable as PDFs or graphic images if you needed a printout of the graphs, charts and/or numbers. The link is to a post with the JavaScript required dashboards that I can’t embed on WordPress, with lots of details on what you should note. However, it is a tool with a lot of flexibility for you to explore Canada’s demographic population numbers on your own! I hope you will try it!

Justin Trudeau is Canada’s Next Prime Minister!

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation just made the call on election returns they saw that Justin Trudeau will be Canada’s next Prime Minister (23rd)!

Finally, Canada smartened up and got rid of “our George Bush”. Now, if only we could find our Barack Obama rather than somebody who sounds like a junior high school kid at a pep rally when giving speeches.

Honestly, I just hope he’s a good listener to be able to listen to good advisers he’ll have to rely on for policy advice.

A Septillion Snowflakes Fall on Canada Each Year and What It Means

According to Environment Canada’s senior climatologist David Phillips, a septillion snowflakes fall on Canada each year. That’s a fact every Canadian should know so that the next time anyone asks them about lots of snow in Canada, they can quantify it. Then here’s how to put it into perspective for someone.
