Narrow AI (artificial intelligence)

Artificial intelligence that is generally good at only one task or one task at a time. Compare to General AI that is good at many and multiple tasks at once, like the AI you see in science-fiction that is quite far away from the AI we have today, as awesome as it may seem (or fearsome to some people).

Vaginal Seeding (or Microbirthing)

Vaginal seeding, also known as microbirthing, is a procedure whereby vaginal fluids (and hence vaginal microbes) are applied to a new-born child delivered by caesarean section. … It involves placing swabs in the mother’s vagina, and then wiping them into the baby’s face, mouth, eyes and skin.

 

It all sounds very holistic and symbolically “romantic” in the sense of trying to bring something artificial a lot closer to natural. It seems plausible that this could imbue the baby with what it lost in artificial delivery compared to natural delivery.

But, alas, the research says not to do it.

A Transportation Fare Proposal for AI Robots

Robots with artificial intelligence able to accompany us are already among us. Look at Pepper and NAO Next Gen below as two examples you can buy, even if not any place in the world and a bit expensive. They are commercially available is my point. So what if they got on a bus, or a plane? What will they be charged for fares? I’ve got a simple proposal!
