For How Much Would You Sell Your Instagram Handle?

January 31, 2021February 1, 2021Digital Citizen Leave a comment

https://digitalcitizen.ca/category/writing/Recently, I got an offer to buy one of the Instagram handles I have. I have a handful because they are themed on my different hobbies, with my obsession to keep my world organized, rather than having one Instagram with “everything” in it and no way to sort it. I don’t know if the offer was serious or not, but it led me to think about an interesting question. How much would I want for this Ode To Toy Instagram handle, given the history and attachment I have with it? Go through the consequences with me and think about your Instagram account, or if you had one, and see what answer you come up with for your situation!

My Repurposed Twitter Account for Innovation

March 30, 2018Digital Citizen Leave a comment

Let’s get one thing clear right away, I am no fan of Twitter. It has a lot of usefulness, yes, but I don’t think the garbage on it is worth the usefulness in a net benefit kind of way. However, I recently saw two uses for it related to my work which I decided to capitalize upon, without engaging in the rest. I consider it anti-social media, if you will… using social media in a public, but non-engaging way.

November 17, 2013November 18, 2013Digital Citizen 1 Comment

This year (2013), I started a fairly organized Cosplay Pinterest account to:

  • Learn more about all the characters out there in the geek and nerd universes;
  • See all the variations people put to these characters in their cosplays;
  • Form a reference collection of cosplays for those looking for inspiration;
  • Learn Pinterest and enjoy my Pinterest experience.

Rush to Get That Clean Email Address You Always Wanted, at Microsoft’s New Outlook.com

July 31, 2012July 31, 2012Digital Citizen Leave a comment

As of July 31st, news is just spreading that Microsoft is reinventing hotmail (CNN). Basically, you can keep your hotmail if you’ve got one, but if you want a new account, it will have to be at live.com, or outlook.com. Better yet, you can integrate all your other hotmail, yahoo, gmail and several other types of accounts with this new one! Now, Live has been around for a while, but Outlook is pretty new, which means LOTS of awesome names are available! So if you’ve got a slightly awkward online email, like Superman13245, cause someone took Superman, and a whole bunch of other Superman + a number, go to Outlook.com now (logged out of your hotmail), and sign up for that clean email you’ve always wanted, to see if it is still available!
