Introversion / Extraversion Assessment from Scientific American on Excel

introversion extraversion assessmentOn June 9th, 2014, the Scientific American blog Beautiful Minds had a rather in-depth article called Will the Real Introverts Please Stand Up? about what introversion really meant (and extraversion as the opposite). The term is still highly misunderstood, whether from generic social definitions, or more precise and complex definitions through the works of Myers-Briggs and others following.

In the Beautiful Minds article, they had a 20 question quiz written out. Some score adjustments were then required after you answered, followed by averaging your newly adjusted scores, and averaging two halves of your score if you wanted more information. In this post with an Excel spreadsheet attachment below, I have made this test a lot easier to take. You just answer the questions and flip through the process to see your results! There is a minor summary of your results, but you’d then go back to the original article linked above for the full details.

Cool and Affordable Laser Cut Miniature Metal Models

I just saw these on a site by Canadian hardware store Lee Valley, of all places! They are by Metal Earth. There are all kinds of themes for their models, and they are all pretty cool! At Lee Valley, they are about $8-$15 Canadian apiece. I see online, like at Amazon, they are sometimes a lot more. However, you’re getting ripped off in such a case, likely, if Lee Valley can sell them at those prices as a middleman. The only reason you might pay a bit more is if some store you know doesn’t carry a particular model, since there are so many! But I’d just get it directly from their site if I were you. There is substantial shipping outside of the US, though, so bulk it up on an order to get the most out of your standard shipping rates.

A Valentine’s Day Toy Photoshoot

I got an idea for a photoshoot today with some small toys and fabric fragments I had around. The results are below, linked from my toy Instagram account, Ode to Toy.

These were taken with an iPhone, in my living room, as my digital SLR is in for sensor cleaning after years of use and getting dirty. I must say I am quite happy with the results. These square photos are all well over 2000 pixels in each dimension in their original files! The iPhone was able to capture small objects (about 2 inches high) from up close, in very vivid detail without blurring out much! It’s going to see a lot more use from me in the future! 🙂

Happy Mistress’ Day! (aka Cheater’s Day, Feb 13)

Did you know there was such a day? Apparently so!

Unfortunately, without a significant other, I can neither celebrate this day nor Valentine’s Day. 😦

However, there are a LOT of perks to being single! More people in the world are now single than attached! Did you know that, too?

This is a trailer for a fantastic documentary about being single, Flying Solo.

Full documentary, but I don’t believe it’s available outside of Canada, which is too bad cause it’s phenomenal!
