President Obama’s Bad Suit or More Junk in His Trunk?

As I’ve gotten more into making my own clothes and achieving good fit, I’ve also become a lot more aware of bad fitting clothing on other people. Most of this is on people around me, but some also on television since not everybody there is well groomed with the greatest wardrobe. The Better, Possibly Best, Way to Transfer Darts on to Fabric

I was doing some custom flare darts tonight on some tricky fabrics that was slippery and smudged chalk well, when I got fed up with the methods I was taught. So what did I do? I thought about how I could do it in a better way and here was what I came up with. I’m not saying this is new or unique. I just haven’t seen it or taught it, and I came up with it all on my own. Works like a charm, I’m happy to report! Why didn’t anybody ever teach or told me about this??? This is the way it SHOULD be done, not to sound arrogant or anything! It is just that much better!

MANDARIN Pyjamas

This was a sewing therapy project. That’s therapy from sewing sort of project, not sewing project as therapy for something else.

Oh, have I ever talked to you about my therapy projects?

Those are simpler project I go to when I get frustrated or mess up with my sewing, so as to get something done right and move in the right direction again. Currently, I don’t have many patterns to which I can do that as a straightforward project, so “simpler” is still a bit relative to including some fitting and/or design. That was the case with this project as I altered a pretty good scrubs pattern I had fitted for myself.
