VILLAGE OF PHOENIX, NY (USA)
Design A3
Proper metaphorical geographic flag in 3 colours
This is the 3 colour version of Design A2, for those who prefer 3 colour flags, where the phoenix is now orange instead of red. Arguably, this can make more sense than Design A2 with the colour of fire being more orange than red, and the phoenix icon already representing the Village well in being striking and at centre, that it doesn’t need additional emphasis with a different colour. However, I don’t like the phoenix colour match to the Syracuse orange as if there was a stronger connection than just the geographical nesting of symbols that is this design.

REFERENCE
The Village of Phoenix of New York State is located in Oswego County, which is one of three counties in the Greater Syracuse Metropolis. Additionally, the Village lies in the southwest part of the town of Schroeppel in Oswego County. The Village has a population of 2,382 in the 2010 census, and is named after Alexander Phoenix, not in reference to a great fire, though it did have one in 1916. Ironically, the Village of Phoenix lies in the Lake Ontario lake-effect snow belt, with seasonal snow totals regularly exceeding 200 inches (510 cm). Minimal branding exists for the Village, with it and other relevant symbols drawn upon for the design in the second picture of the post.
