NFL Draft Style Pro Bowl Reactions, Anyone?

The NFL just held its first draft style Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

There were lots of great hits and hard plays, not just half efforts you see in some other years.
Also tons of interesting dynamics of teammates versus each other, doling out some pretty awesome hits, no less.
Great two minute drills at the end of every quarter, including the last one down to the last second that saw Jerry Rice’s team beat Deion Sanders’ team 22-21 in a two point convert and missed field goal all in the past two minutes.

The FIRST Dress Shirt

Before my current sewing adventure, I had one fling with sewing back in 2007 when I made this dress shirt. You can see from it, I had most of my fashion philosophy even way back then. Bold colours. Clear and easily defined. Asymmetry. Distinct look. Details. Memorable.

The DRAPERY Dress Shirt (Draft)

Still being finicky to tweak my dress shirt pattern for the ideal fit and look I want, I am not sure at which point I would have that ideal final pattern. Any given dress shirt draft could end up being the one, and it would be a waste of time to throw out because I had made it from crappy fabric in my stash. But at the same time, I didn’t want to dig much into my good stash, with most of it having been bought in New York or Los Angeles because interesting fabric I’d wear is really hard to come by in Halifax. As a result, I produced this aptly named dress shirt where I used old curtains I had while living in Vancouver in the late 1990s!

MANDARIN Pyjamas

This was a sewing therapy project. That’s therapy from sewing sort of project, not sewing project as therapy for something else.

Oh, have I ever talked to you about my therapy projects?

Those are simpler project I go to when I get frustrated or mess up with my sewing, so as to get something done right and move in the right direction again. Currently, I don’t have many patterns to which I can do that as a straightforward project, so “simpler” is still a bit relative to including some fitting and/or design. That was the case with this project as I altered a pretty good scrubs pattern I had fitted for myself.
