Is Apple Going iCloud a Good Idea? Convince Me.

Steve Jobs of Apple recently announced Apple is going “cloud”, essentially declaring the end of the age of the personal computer becoming the central hub of people’s digital lives (NY Times, Jun 6 2011).

Essentially, Apple is proposing the replacement of a hard drive in a computer with storing and syncing things online so you have access to all of your stuff on any device in any place at any time. The iCloud service starts with photos, music, files and software.

Sounds really great until you stop and think about a few things.

How Much Credit Should Obama Get for Killing bin Laden? Vote!

President Barack Obama

Politicians often get or take a lot of credit for things done by many people by the nature of how we view things and of our political system. Conversely, they also get the flack for a lot of things, whether fairly or not because it might have been the errors or poor performance of many others. As the symbolic focal point for a lot of things, that’s how accountability is thrust upon them.

For their sake of accountability, the ability to be able to decide how much or little to get involved is a key trait to a good politician because nobody is an expert at everything. What Will Be the Next Real Big Royal Event? Vote!

OK. So the Willie Kate British royal wedding is over. What do you think is going to be the next real big royal event?

By real big, I mean something with either a lot of shock or pomp and circumstance. The examples are in the survey below so please do take a moment to cast a vote!

We’ll see the people can predict the future! 🙂

If you think it’ll be William and Kate’s first child, why not take a vote at how long they should wait in my poll earlier today?

How Long Should Prince William and Kate Middleton Wait to Have Their First Child? Vote!

With the Prince William to Kate Middleton royal wedding now over with, the next real big British royalty moment everyone is looking forward to could well be the birth of their first child and the yet next heir to the British throne. Sure, Prince Harry’s wedding would be a big event. Phillip and the Queen are both getting on in years so they may pass, which would also be a big event. Charles may divorce again, too, and Fate may throw in a twist here and there. However, the real big event everyone would be looking forward to would be the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s first child.

So how long should they wait?

Jimmer Fredette is my Favourite Mormon, Who’s Yours?

Jimmer Fredette

After a basketball season of seeing highlights of BYU basketball sensation Jimmer Fredette, my pretty agnostic self and I have decided the Jimmer is my favourite Mormon.

Now, I don’t know many Mormons. Nor do I know of many Mormons. However, that didn’t mean he had no competition in my decision. I spent some time to beef up my Mormon knowledge through a web site listing famous Mormons, which is more than any Mormon have gotten me looking into Mormonry, and I still didn’t find anyone who made me smile or got me as psyched as Jimmer has this year. No Mormon have ever gotten me to blog about Mormons or Mormonry, either.
