Lyrics for San Clemente’s Not the Same, Mr Nixon You’re to Blame (by Barbara Foster)

So, someone found a popular song for which lyrics were not online! And it was on my site, of a song for which I posted a video! At their request, I typed out the lyrics and they are below the video.

Sing along folks cause it’s a great singalong tune!

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

You made our town , your summer home
You crowned it with, the Capital dome
You took a step, out on the beach
Now Cotton’s Point, is out of reach

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

At nine we used, to close the bar
That was OK, with F.D.R.
Oh Mr Nixon, you’re so great
But must your guest, stay out so late?

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

Before we close, I’d like to say
Oh, neighbour we’d, like you to stay
But would you take, us off the map
And give us back, our noon day nap

There was a town, so quiet and still
Then came the folks, from Capitol Hill
San Clemente’s not the same
Mr Nixon, you’re to blame!

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame…

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame…

What beautiful lyric writing! To start out with a first verse that opened the story, but also served as a repeatable chorus! You try writing a story where the intro can be repeated to finish off each section!

San Clemente’s Not the Same, Mr Nixon You’re to Blame!

Just watched Our Nixon on CNN, and my favourite part was this little rag at the end! A cute little ditty by sung by Barbara Foster and written by Myron Ace, its theme denounces the Washington/political tourist crowd that bombarded San Clemente after Richard Nixon moved to San Clemente’s coastal hamlet and bought the Cotton’s estate. To this day the home is still known as the Western White House.

I don’t think this song has ever gotten the attention it just got now on CNN! I get the feeling it’s gonna be sung a lot more often now with its catchy chorus of “Mr Nixon, you’re to blame” and Nixon’s image associated with the Watergate Scandal that seemed like everybody around Nixon went to jail for except Nixon.

Mr Nixon, you’re to blame… Mr Nixon you’re to blame…

290 X-men Movies Wallpapers (1024×768 pixels)

These wallpapers are from the X-men movies before X-men First Class, for which there aren’t a lot of graphics to work with yet. I’ll post those separately when there are more. Most of these wallpapers are also available in other sizes and purposes, if this isn’t the size you want your X-men wallpapers in or wish to get them for your other phones, monitors and for printing.

Of all the wallpaper sets I’ve created on this site, I have to say this has been my favourite. I love the X-men comics, and I thought the casting and costumes created for the movies’ characters were fabulous! The movies were spectacular, too, and I only wished they put one out each summer. Goodness knows they’ve got enough story lines to create that many for a long time… and it’s not like they don’t make a ton of money, either!

If you’re using Windows XP, you can learn how to create your own customized Windows XP screen saver with instructions via this link.

I also have instructions for how to use Windows 7′s nice rotating background feature to rotate many of these wallpapers on your computer if you didn’t know how to enable it.

I hope you enjoy these wallpapers. I have more for other monitor sizes coming by the end of November if this or the widescreen sizes below aren’t what you were looking for.

Over 200 X-men Movies Printable Picture Cards and Posters

These graphics from the X-men movie series can be taken to any typical photo printing machine and be printed out at 6″ x 4″ in size unless otherwise indicated. If you like the X-men, or for the X-men fan in your life, these make great “custom” little souvenirs. Also use your imagination to use these as prints for anything you can print a picture on, from T-shirts to cups, for unique custom gifts.

Pictures 8″ x 12″ in size, or 12″ x 18″ in size, can also be printed out as small 6″ x 4″ without having to cut off anything.

It seems to me that in some places, photo machines or stores do not print 8″ x 12″, so I have created 8″ x 10″ where I can from those larger pictures. It’s certainly hard to find 8″ x 12″ frames in some places, but 8″ x 10″ seems to be quite common, so all the more reasons to have the latter. Sure, these are just photos and what have you, but for the X-men fan in your life, a few of these would look real nice on their walls or desks! I know I’d like some!

The larger the photo size, the larger the file size will be so please be patient. 12″ x 18″ files are often larger than 8MB, while 8″ x 12″ files range anywhere from 2-4 MB. The file size is to maintain the quality of the graphics for printing nicely.

These are not official merchandise so please do not use them to make anything to sell!
