Finalist Flag 3 for Kentville, NS

KENTVILLE, NS
Finalist 3
Two Half Acres

DESCRIPTION
“A white apple blossom appears on Town blue in the hoist half, while a white pentagram appears on Town green in the fly half.”

REFERENCES
The pentagram and green half of the flag reference Kentville’s past when it was informally known as the Devil’s Half Acre for gambling, drinking, and other associated misbehaviours with its horse racing. It still has the occasional reference today, and few things say distinct more on a flag than an appropriately used pentagram. The Town green references the lush land of the Annapolis Valley where it is located, even with the Devil there. The apple blossom represents the present town, its people, and the Apple Blossom festival for which the town is known. It appears on Town blue for the river running into town.

This is a personal project I have been doing for a year, not an effort by the municipality or its citizens.
