Close cropped logo
My design solution of choice, or at least default go to, for having to put a logo on a flag while making the design interesting, is to have that logo so “in your face” close-up that the entire logo doesn’t fit in the flag space. The style or technique is also called close-cropping in photography, like a portrait where the face would more than fill the photo area, meaning there is no space to be seen around the head within the photo area. That’s what I did in this design with the logo on the hoist side so that it is seen immediately with the least amount of wind unfurling the smallest amount of the flag. There is enough of the logo in the centre area to hint something is there as it drapes limp on a pole indoors or on windless days as well.

REFERENCE
Inverness County, Nova Scotia, is one of four counties on the island of Cape Breton. It has a population of about 17,000 in a land area of 3817 sq km (1474 sq miles). The county is known for its three main things. The first is its Scottish/Gaelic heritage, with some Acadian history in villages such as Cheticamp, and Irish influence. The second is its beautiful scenery of the Cape Breton highlands, often bordering the ocean with scenic cliffs, look offs, and drives. Finally, it has a strong musical scene and reputation of fiddling, Scottish, and Irish music and dancing. For these reasons, it was branded as “Canada’s musical coast”, with a logo to match.
