INVERNESS COUNTY, NS

Logo on Scottish saltire
With Inverness’ strong Scottish connection, including its name, and one colour in its colour scheme being essentially the Scottish flag blue, the Scottish saltire is an obvious choice for a simple logo and field design. I don’t think the logo goes that well with the Scottish saltire visually, personally, but that aside, the design works with fimbriation around the logo.

REFERENCE
Inverness County, Nova Scotia, is one of four counties on the island of Cape Breton. It has a population of about 17,000 in a land area of 3817 sq km (1474 sq miles). The county is known for its three main things. The first is its Scottish/Gaelic heritage, with some Acadian history in villages such as Cheticamp, and Irish influence. The second is its beautiful scenery of the Cape Breton highlands, often bordering the ocean with scenic cliffs, look offs, and drives. Finally, it has a strong musical scene and reputation of fiddling, Scottish, and Irish music and dancing. For these reasons, it was branded as “Canada’s musical coast”, with a logo to match.
