Proposed Flag for Mahone Bay – Designs 8A and 8B

MAHONE BAY, NS
8A and 8B new Round 2 designs without (top) and with (bottom) First Nations representation

These are variants of Designs 7A and 7B, with the realistic church renderings the people seem to prefer over the abstracted triangular rendering. Given the space these renderings take up to show some details that make them beautiful, no reflection of the churches could be shown, but it would look really awkward without a land horizon line anyway. It’s quite beautiful just in this way. The Mi’kmaq star in yellow, with black trim for contrast to the white, furthered that theme with an important new symbol! That star is actually a sun symbolizing unity. Its full colours are black (west), white (north), yellow (east), and red (south), but I had seen it depicted in one colour like here, or one colour with black outline.

REFERENCE
Mahone Bay is a small town of about 1000 residents on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It is a picturesque tourism destination, especially the iconic three churches along the waterfront of the bay itself, though there are five churches in the town! It has a historic boat/ship building heritage, with more transport and industrial ships in the past, and more pleasure crafts in the present, from all materials but especially wood historically. It is also a current haven for entrepreneurs and business startups growing its population.
