With my 35th marathon completed in Lyon in October, 2023, and me switching to sprinting that is my strength given my fast twitch muscle build and single speed gene in my DNA, I did this video of those marathon finishers’ medals. 35 for 35 to finish marathons I started, including Boston one year I chose to go after qualifying, but not others. Tons of incredible memories, friendships, experiences, and so on, including many I never thought I would have because I never believed I was capable. But I did my part to help my luck, and let Fate help in the other part of the contribution, and those surprises were the best! Not bad for a guy who once had trouble running around the block, and a kid who once had trouble walking around the block!

Jet d’eau Fountain of Lake Geneva
While I was in Geneva, I had roamed over to its old side down river from Lake Geneva, so I didn’t see its incredible Jet d’eau until I was high up on its old side and saw a water fountain beyond the drop off in my view. It shocked me because I had a sense of how high up I was in having climbed the hills up to the leveled area of old Geneva, and here was a jet of water from down below somewhere that look quite large, rising above this horizon?
Sure enough, when I made my way back to my hotel, I went closer to the lake and river mouth of La Rhone than when I had crossed over earlier, and that Jet d’eau just blew my mind, having a sense of the force, energy, and power required to do something like that from my science with some engineering background. The next day, I came back for a better look, and got this video from the lake tour boat. I even came back later in the evening from the other side after exploring it to see this fountain from a different view at night than before. I could look at it everyday, and be energized as if I could feel and absorb some of the energy it takes to keep it going!
Inside the Mary Queen of the World Cathedral
Montreal has some gorgeous churches. While in Montreal in 2023, I was in the vicinity of la Basilique-cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde de Montréal (Mary Queen of the World Cathedral), and took the time to visit. After viewing and saying more than my fair share of prayers for the world, friends, family, and a few for myself, I took a little spinorama style panorama video of the place.
Landing in Montreal
When I fly, I love getting window seats for the reasons most others who get window seats do. However, being on TikTok, I now have additional motivation to get window seats, so I can capture take off and landing videos like this if the weather cooperates!
Van Gogh’s Impasto Up Close
In the Musee d’Orsay in Paris, there are lots of Van Gogh paintings. What was surprising to me, though, was how close you could get to them to be able to see all the details of the impasto in his paintings. Their abstraction, when viewed up close, was often just as interesting as the painting itself. That’s why I took a bunch of such pics and put them into a TikTok video.
