After 199 consecutive posts of mostly flag designs, I am no longer ahead of the game to post more. At least not posts I can yet share, or that I’d care to share because I discarded those designs without using them for my initial consultations. But I’ve been active on TikTok of late, so I’ll share some of my adventures there in this and future posts.
After a storm passed Halifax Wednesday night, I went for a pleasant and enjoyable run until I hit the waterfront, at which time I saw how high the ocean was at what I guessed was high tide, or near high tide. So I ran home to get my phone and ran back out for a few short clips. I put it on TikTok, thinking the usual would happen, where I would get maybe a hundred views, and maybe a Like or two if I were lucky, and that’d be that. I have public social media accounts to record things I want to show people later without having to keep them on my devices, not to become famous or influence or anything like that.
Well, a day later, that video has gotten more than 23,000 views! There’s been over 700 people liking it, with over 50 comments and 60 bookmarks! There’s also been over 50 new followers for me! That’s up from 3 who I know in real life and were just being nice to follow me since I followed them to learn about what sort of things they posted.
It’s all a nice surprise, to be fair. LOTS of people on TikTok would LOVE to have this “problem”. But to me, it is a “problem”, because I feel obligated to be a bit more engaged to “respond” in some way to those who did engage with comments, and especially follows. Of course, I don’t have to. I’m sure it wouldn’t Tik off many, if any, if I just pretended I never saw it all. They might unfollow me, those who did, but big deal, right? It’s not like I was craving it or I knew them, and such. But the gut neurons aren’t agreeing with the head neurons right now. Problem with what the head neurons are saying in their neurotransmitter drone attack is that I don’t have time for it. Or at least not enough time, though I did have time to post a reaction video that, by the looks of things, is back to normal business with 0 views as of this writing several hours later. LOL

But the original video is still getting lots of love at this time. π
