REGION OF QUEENS MUNICIPALITY, NS (Canada)
Design 3C
Sun on slanted tricolour
This slanted variation of Design 3A gives the flag a more memorable field that also allowed for a bigger sun to additionally increase distinctiveness. The slant is also more uplifting, rising when viewed left to right, and more dynamic compared to the right angles only traditional tricolour field of Design 3A. As for narrative to go with these less standard fields, I hate to admit it but I’m already cynical enough about some symbolism attribution that we can deal with that later, having no doubt I can come up with something to give these less than standard abstract fields meaning. This one could be thought of as progressive and future leaning (like how italics lean left to right the way we read and write in most languages in a right hand dominated world).
This municipality recently told me they have a flag featuring their coat of arms (pic 2 of post), but no more detail. So this is now just a design exercise without possibility of collaboration or adoption.

REFERENCE
The Regional of Queens Municipality is a regional municipality in southwestern Nova Scotia that is a centre of outdoor activities with diverse geography within its 2,760 sq km (1,070 sq mi) area. Its boundary includes all of Queens County except for First Nations reserves, formed in 1996 through an amalgamation of the Town of Liverpool and the Municipality of the County of Queens with 12 other communities. Queens RM has a coat of arms and modern logo branding (Queens Coast with a QC initialed logo using a different colour scheme). Both are shown in pictures behind the flag in each post.
