Five Churches Star
With the “brand expansion” of Design 3a possibly being a design catastrophe, I wondered what else could be done with all those triangles. Well, a star happens to have triangles for its tips, so I arranged the logo style triangular renderings of the churches (without reflection triangles) into a star, where each triangle is a star tip. That left a pentagonal space in the middle as a very convenient space to add another symbol. There, I added a schooner from the local Heritage Boatyards to pay homage to the long and respected history of boat building in Mahone Bay. The star on a generic blue background for the ocean also visually symbolized an island. The Town of Mahone Bay is not an island, but the bay itself is full of islands so that potential interpretation can be considered legitimate.
Constructive criticisms welcomed. Thank you.
REFERENCE
Mahone Bay is a small town of about 1000 residents on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It is a picturesque tourism destination, especially the iconic three churches along the waterfront of the bay itself, though there are five churches in the town! It has a historic boat/ship building heritage, with more transport and industrial ships in the past, and more pleasure crafts in the present, from all materials but especially wood historically. It is also a current haven for entrepreneurs and business startups growing its population.
