Real Churches
The Mahone Bay logo to abstract their 3 iconic churches as triangles has been met with mixed reaction. I am not surprised given the traditional artistic and craft loving nature of this town. However, their town seal has three relatively simple, beautiful, and accurate renderings of those churches, so I thought why not use them? To keep contrast of those white churches, I used a lush green for the town landscape, including that behind the churches, unlike previous versions of white or sky blue. To keep good overall contrast, I made the water sky blue that could either be its colour or a clear sky reflecting in it given the church reflections are in it.
Constructive criticisms welcomed. Thank you.
REFERENCE
Mahone Bay is a small town of about 1000 residents on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It is a picturesque tourism destination, especially the iconic three churches along the waterfront of the bay itself, though there are five churches in the town! It has a historic boat/ship building heritage, with more transport and industrial ships in the past, and more pleasure crafts in the present, from all materials but especially wood historically. It is also a current haven for entrepreneurs and business startups growing its population.
