And a hockey game just broke out of a kitchen party that just broke out in Heaven…

The Wayne Gretzky of Canadian music, legend Stompin’ Connors just passed away at the age of 77 of natural causes. The press release on his website is below. I sure hope he was watching or dreaming of a hockey game, or singing or doing something he loved. He will surely be greatly missed!

Bob Dylan

May 24th 2011 will be the 70th birthday of legendary music icon Bob Dylan, and Rolling Stone magazine has an incredible tribute to him. They had lots of famous musicians share their favourite Dylan songs as one feature, among lots of other great features. From this, I got the idea for people to pay their own tribute to Bob while sharing with others your love for Bob and his music using social media.

If you follow the Facebook picture tagging memes I’ve been created, you would see I’m evolving them into what I call Facebook 2.0 versions (or action tagging memes). It is named after the Web 2.0 concept, where it’s not just fun and games but result in real life actions. The latest one just requires hugging and appears below, in two versions of two levels of difficulty. But some logistics first… here’s how to get these picture memes or where you can find others if you were looking for them and I had them.

  • Click on the picture to get it at full size.
  • Right click on that picture and save to your computer.
  • Upload it to your Facebook profile.
  • Tag your friends!

Please click here for a complete list of over 100 Facebook picture tagging memes on this site, with which you can use for fun with your friends.

Please click here to get some of the small graphics below to use as avatars, buddy icons and profile pictures for Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Bebo, WordPress, Blogspot, LiveJournal and other applications.

Before I get on with the hugging tagging meme, please be aware that hugging could be sexual assault if the person hugged does not want to be hugged by you! If you are not sure they might be OK, do NOT hug them, and don’t use this as an excuse to do so!

Now that we’re ready, for the first and simple hug tagging meme version, you go out and hug a bunch of friends on a hugging spree. After each one, you tag one of the hugging pictures on the poster. You could do it the other way to tag them all first, then go hug them. However, I think it’s better if you hug them first because it’s a surprise. Otherwise, there’s going to be expectations.

You could turn this into a game by having a bunch of friends upload the picture and race to get the poster filled after a certain time you set, like starting next Monday morning. Given the nice nature of hugs, you could do that every week! :-)

The second version requires a little more patience and coordination. What you have to do is start the chain reaction by hugging someone you have as a Facebook friend and tag him or her in the upper left hand corner. The poster has instructions included. The person hugged then goes to hug someone else and tags the icon below that, and so on as the arrows show in the poster.

People who are involved are, in essence, passing a hug along. At the end of the chain, the last person tagged on the poster has to hug you to close the circle. Get it?

Note: Since this posting, I have evolved Facebook picture tagging memes on my own ideas far beyond this concept I saw. My ideas involve real world and life actions rather than just associating ideas. They are listed under the Action memes category, involving what I call Facebook 2.0 tagging memes.

The pictorial Facebook tagging memes that have been going around in many variations seems to have evolved into that common high school year book feature, the Most Likely To… page. I saw one just hours ago, but it was so poorly done (mostly due to almost unreadable small type) I went and created my own, text, picture compilation and all. Here’s how to get it:

  • Click on the picture below to get it at full size.
  • Right click on that picture and save to your computer.
  • Upload it to your Facebook profile.
  • Tag your friends or let them tag themselves.

In case you don’t recognize some of the people in my new version, they are as follows, left to right:

  • Top: Peyton Manning, Wangari Matthai, Osama bin Laden, Paris Hilton, Jet Li
  • Middle: Pamela Anderson, Bob Dylan, Oprah Winfrey, the current Dalai Lama, Sue Johannson
  • Bottom: Claudia Schiffer, Martha Stewart, Bill Gates, Anna Nicole Smith, Barack Obama

You can Google these people if you want to know more about who they are, and maybe guess why I’ve put labeled each as such.

Today’s Facebook poster tagging meme involve comic book superheroes (and superheroines). These are limited to DC Universe and Marvel comic characters, and there are no villains to stay away from the negativity of it all, even if it is fun to jab your friends every now and then. I’m just not that type.

  • Click on the superhero poster below to get it at full size.
  • Right click on that picture and save to your computer.
  • Upload it to your Facebook profile.
  • Tag your friends (or let them tag themselves).

Other X-men posts on this site:

Post-dated add-on.

I found several X-men Facebook tagging posters on Facebook, recently claimed by Lori. As with what I found, I touched them up to optimize them for Facebook as so many are so poorly created, whether in dimensions, excess file sizes, contrast, sometimes text added, and so on. There are 9 X-men characters each, though they come in sets of the male and female characters rather than a mix, but may be good for some people. However, I must say, the art work chosen to create these is fabulous! Super job!
